Ben Hendricks
Senior Engineer and Lead Architect
As 501cTech’s lead architect, Ben Hendricks spends ten percent of his time predicting the next big thing, 20 percent implementing the next big thing, 20 percent implementing the current big thing and 50 percent retiring the last big thing. Ben worked on Wall Street for a very brief time (unfortunately 1987 was not a good year for starting a financial career) and moved from that into IT-related work for various companies. He also spent eight great years as IT Director for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, which sparked an interest in nonprofit IT work, and the rest is history!
Ben holds a B.S .and M.S. /M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Alabama. Ben’s basement tells the story of what he does outside of work: vintage workstations (SUN, HP, and SGI); paddles and life vests; tents and sleeping bags; muddy hiking boots; telescopes and binoculars; several guitars, both acoustic and electric; and all the kitchen stuff that won’t fit in the kitchen. He lives in the Indian Springs community in Silver Spring, Maryland with his lovely wife, Jennifer, and their teenage son.
Favorite Tech Tools: “The two software tools that have completely transformed my job are VMware virtualization and the Kaseya managed services suite.”
