Eligibility & Application Details
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (as defined by the Internal Revenue Service) other than: church or organization whose primary mission is to promote a religion; private school, college or university; nonprofit hospital or cooperative hospital service organization; and governmental unit.
- Must demonstrate fiscal responsibility, which is defined by adherence to generally accepted accounting standards.
- Must be inclusive and embrace diversity; does not discriminate in service delivery and employment on any basis including ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.
- Must be based or have a chapter in the Washington Metropolitan area which is defined as the District of Columbia, suburban Maryland or suburban Virginia.
- The technology innovation described in this application must have been implemented within the past 12-18 months.
SCORING CRITERIA:
- Technology Innovation (10 points maximum): How innovative is the use of technology?
- Program Impact (8 points maximum): Rate the impact of technological innovation on an organization’s program and operations, for example, fundraising, advocacy, membership, volunteers, finances, and/or human resource management.
- Service Impact (8 points maximum): Rate the impact of technological innovation on its ability to build workforce skills, better serve clients, customers, donors, members, and/or community at large.
- Application of Technology (4 points maximum): How relevant is this innovation to other nonprofits?
